As a cause worker I always wanted to get something done with traditional artisans in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. Bikaner was once famous for wool spinning and weaving at artisan homes in the villages before industry took it over. For an order I needed to get cotton hand spun by there were few spinner women left and they too would spin wool only. I took the challenge of hand spinning cotton for the first time in Bikaner. I persuaded women spinners for cotton and paid them the wages not fair but the best in their view because it was almost 3 times the normal wages. I got the thick cotton spun and got the fabric of these totes woven by only one available weaver. Then got them dyed in different colors in natural colors by one of the traditional dyers and that too one of the last few who would still dye at home. Finally, in this world of fast fashion,   I mat one of the old masterji who would cut and stitch each piece individually. Thats how these totes came into being and their texture, feel and look is unbelievable. I am proud of them.
size: 13 x 17 inches excluding the handle string
